AB DAO, in partnership with the AB Charity Foundation, officially announces the Timor-Leste AB Resort, a national-level innovation resort. This will be the world’s first national-level innovation center dedicated to both artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, spanning 300,000 square meters along the coastline and integrating technology R&D, leisure, and entertainment. Development is divided into four phases; Phase I covers 26,000 square meters and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Upon completion, the Timor-Leste AB Resort will recruit AI innovation teams, leading blockchain projects, industry-leading media outlets, blockchain universities and research institutions, international conference and exhibition brands, and scientific advisors from around the globe. It will host technology summits, academic seminars, and incubator activities, providing an ideal habitat and networking platform for blockchain professionals and digital nomads worldwide.

The Timor-Leste AB Resort leverages the island nation’s unique natural assets and supportive policy environment, having secured exclusive licences from the Central Bank of Timor-Leste to issue stablecoins, as well as licences to operate a digital bank and digital exchange. These licences underpin a robust on-chain financial ecosystem, ensuring safe, seamless digital-asset transactions. Guests will be able to pay and exchange major cryptocurrencies on-site, while AB token holders will enjoy exclusive benefits such as special discounts and priority reservations; specific entitlement terms are currently under finalisation.

The integrated resort will feature luxury hotels and villas, innovation offices, training centres, and event facilities, alongside a yacht club, marine experience zone, and a digital-nomad village. It will be open to blockchain enterprises and communities globally, with plans to host technology labs, incubators, and industry conferences to accelerate real-world deployment and ecosystem growth.

AB DAO and the Government of Timor-Leste will collaborate closely, supported by on-chain philanthropy and decentralized governance, to upgrade local infrastructure and nurture talent. As a flagship project of the AB Charity Foundation, the Timor-Leste AB Resort will inject new energy into blockchain development and set a benchmark for the fusion of blockchain technology and tourism.
