AB Universal Transfer Protocol (UTP)

The Universal Transfer Protocol (UTP) is a general protocol designed within the AB ecosystem specifically for on-chain asset transfers. It aims to simplify the operational process of on-chain assets, lower the threshold for user participation, and enhance the accessibility and liquidity of assets.

UTP introduces a mechanism where users can pay transaction fees using assets recognized by the protocol, eliminating the dependence on native tokens. Through standardized transfer processes, UTP provides a more seamless, convenient, and secure experience for on-chain asset transfers.

Fee Abstraction

Fee abstraction is a mechanism where fee rules and settlement logic are defined and executed at the protocol level, allowing transactions to be completed without requiring users to manage native gas tokens directly.

Multi-Asset Fee Settlement

The UTP protocol supports settling transaction fees using certified assets such as AB and USD1. Before initiating a transaction, users authorize the use of a recognized asset for fee settlement, while the protocol handles the underlying chain’s gas payment and settlement process, simplifying user operations and improving overall usability.

Heterogeneous Chain Payments

UTP enables the transfer of standard-compliant assets from the AB Core chain to supported public blockchain addresses across heterogeneous networks. By abstracting cross-chain complexity at the protocol layer, UTP provides a unified and consistent mechanism for asset transfers across different blockchains.

Enhanced User Experience

By abstracting fee handling and supporting multi-asset fee settlement, UTP lowers the operational threshold for on-chain asset transfers. This design encourages more frequent cross-chain asset movement and enhances liquidity, activity, and practical application scenarios across the blockchain ecosystem.

Begin Building

New Organizations and Collaborations AB's technical framework consists of the foundational technology layer, the super exchange protocol layer, and the application layer. All AB products will first be deployed to the NewChain testnet for public testing before official release. Technical documentation provides developers with comprehensive development guides.
